SAPKO-C.E. Ltd. is the official representative for Bulgaria of DCL, VCR, Global Management, Maritime Holding Group, CMA-CGM and many other shipowners and operators.

 

The ships that operate and manage SAPKO-C.E. Ltd. are mainly European companies - Dutch, Spanish, French, German, Italian, with tourists of different nationalities, as well as one of the largest American cruise companies. Vessels with a majority of passengers of a particular nationality require English language skills as the main working and corresponding predominant language of the passengers.

 

Contracts of the officers' staff are 4 months - with a 2-month vacation ie. rotation principle 4 to 2. Some of the cruise companies offer rotation for officers and managers for 3/2 or 3/3 months.

 

Contracts of the executives have a duration of 6 to 8 months.

 

Hotel service staff depending on the position and the departments - from 6 to 8 months.

 

For hotel management staff - rotation for 4/2 months or 5/3 months.

 

The rotation of passenger ships is mainly in the Mediterranean Sea, the Aegean Sea, the Adriatic during the summer period, and during the winter period - Brazil, the Caribbean, Africa. Some passenger ships carry out year round mini-trips around the world or are chartered by specialized V.I.P. destinations.

 

River passenger ships are seasonal, chartered with groups of passengers of different nationalities. These ships are luxurious – 5, 5+ and 6-star, with a high standard of service. The main working language is English, which candidates have to know at a very good level. For river passenger ships with German-speaking passengers, applicants are required to speak German and English at a very good level.

 

Requirements for applicants for all positions in the hotel department - service staff are required to hold the following passports and certificates:

 

1) international passport valid at least 1 year ahead

2) seaman's passport valid at least 1 year ahead

3) basic certificates

4) Passenger certificates - crowd management

5) Proficiency in service craft and rescue boats

6) Boatman to 20GT.

 

For the officers' staff applying for passenger ship positions, except for the above-mentioned first 5 points, a certificate of competency and endorsement for the highest professional degree which they hold as a deck officer or engine officer is required.
